CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE AND LIFELINE CHICAGO BRING CHRISTMAS JOY TO THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN WITHOUT PARENTAL CARE

In the spirit of the long-standing humanitarian tradition of The Royal Family of Serbia, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine, Mrs Betty Roumeliotis, the Crown Princess’s sister, together with Ms. Donna Sekulić and Mrs. Melanie Sever, members of the Board of Directors of Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago, once again celebrated the Christmas holidays with thousands of children without parental care and presented the children with beautiful gifts.

For more than three decades, Lifeline Chicago has operated under the Patronage of Crown Princess Katherine, with a mission focused on supporting the most vulnerable in Serbia and in Republika Srpska.

During this holiday season, Their Royal Highnesses visited children’s Homes, where Christmas gifts were personally presented to the young residents. The warmth, care, and attention shown in each gift conveyed to the children the understanding that they are not forgotten and that they are supported by the care, compassion, and love of a wider community from across the world.

Thousands of gifts were prepared with special care and dedication by the supporters of Lifeline Chicago. Each package was thoughtfully tailored to each child’s age and needs, including precisely selected clothing sizes and footwear sizes, ensuring that each gift was both personal and meaningful.  The Christmas gift bags included brand new:  clothing, shoes, packages of socks, hygiene bags, and toys for the youngest.

Thanks to the generosity of the donors, benefactors, volunteers, and members of the Board of Directors of Lifeline Chicago, children without parental care in Serbia and in Republika Srpska once again felt the love, joy, hope, and spirit of Christmas. 

On this occasion, visits were made to The Home for the Protection of Children and Youth on Ustanička Street, The Drinka Pavlović Home, The Jovan Jovanović Zmaj Home for Children and Youth, as well as The Belgrade Children’s Shelter, institutions with which The Crown Princess Katherine Foundation has maintained long-standing and successful ties. 

“We are deeply grateful to all the donors who made it possible for the spirit of Christmas to reach our youngest ones. Their happiness is what matters most to us. There is no greater reward than knowing that we have brought joy into their lives. By caring for children and their well-being, we are also caring for the future of our society,” said Princess Katherine.

Directors of all of the institutions visited expressed their sincere gratitude to Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine, Lifeline Chicago, and The Crown Princess Katherine Foundation for their continued support and long-term dedication to improving the quality of life of the children in their care.
